NaPoWriMo Day 16 - A Cherita #1

a tense afternoon with
a more-tension-rising evening
so much to do before Sunday and Monday
when wonderful joyous things are happening -
celebrating Easter and the next day's road trip

but until then ... I allow
myself to breathe and to write

I am side-stepping the (optional) group prompt suggested for the National Poetry Writing Month #NaPoWriMo challenge.

I've given myself the challenge to write a cherita poem (pronounced CHAIR-rita).

Cherita* is a linked poetry form of one-, two-, and three-line stanzas.

When I first read about it I loved the idea that a longer story could be told in a poetic form.  Then other things distracted me and I put it on the shelf.
