NaPoWriMo #21 Remembering Him Then

paired on the airplane
our cameras and lives melded
in business and marriage

portrait photographers
holding film .. then memory cards
til the banks crashed

your nature photo
will never be forgotten
"After the Spring Storm"

would we do it all
over again with all the
highs and lows

National Poetry Writing Month #NaPoWriMo Day 21 the challenge is to write a poem in which I first recall someone you used to know closely but are no longer in touch with, then a job you used to have but no longer do, and then a piece of art that you saw once and that has stuck with you over time. Finally, close the poem with an unanswerable question.

Today I enjoyed remembering our past and how our lives have changed drastically while enjoying a bottle of local wine in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

I centered all the poems around my husband

(1) what we were like when we first met acknowledging we are very different now

(2) we had a photography business together so our "jobs" were to create portraits for families and businesses and it was a fantastic experience until the banks crashed and our customers fled

(3) the piece I'll never forget is a photograph my husband created he titled "After The Spring Storm."  Unfortunately, it was a digital file creation process and he never printed it.

(4) the unanswerable question is posed above.
