Full of Gratitude

full of gratitude
words images and type
runneth over

National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) eve

This is my first year participating in National Poetry Writing Month, NaPoWriMo, after watching friend poets at THE DAILY HAIKU post and share content last year.

I'm still new at haiku and loving it so I'll be writing content primarily in the haiku form(s). As someone else said, the content here will be drafts that may be revised if/when they eventually get published elsewhere.

Inspired by today's early bird prompt:

“To be a Flower, is profound / Responsibility" by Emily Dickinson

mustn't disappoint -

flowers hold weight of the world

on their petals

Life's Winding Staircase

life's winding staircase

with joy we run up higher

mindful of each step

Jeweled Trees

jeweled trees
night diamonds ... morning pearls

spring impermanence

Morning Repast

morning repast 's
appearance of being alone

friends presence a present

(Even if their presence is virtual or imaginary.)

Poets World-wide

each friend a flower

facing the sun as

they write verses

of love and loss

Sing Me a Smile

lean toward the sounds
as returning birds fly by

sings me a smile

so so wonderful -

this keen love of nature

fills the empty-handed

best gift to myself

Stand Strong

no whispering

time to loudly support

nothing stays the same

flowers sprout, open, and close

stand strong in the sun

Hands Are Full

petrichor   heavy in the air   fills our hands
