Remembrance
May 29, 2020 I wrote my first haiku poem thanking an anonymous person for leaving a bouquet of flowers on our front step. Her intention for this one act of kindness was to counterbalance the fear generated from the COVID lockdown and the riots that were occurring at multiple sites in Minneapolis after the death of George Floyd, which occurred two miles west of our home.
That haiku was the beginning of a life-changing experience I will never forget.

Light and Shadow
light and shadow
call to fill empty spaces
discontent ... contented
* * * * *
deep in a forest
seek the life-changing path
in light or shadow

City Election
city election
Jacob Frey re-elected
the loser … wins again
Incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey, IMHO,
was a loser in the way in handled Minneapolis riots and violence.
He did not get my vote
